We are very pleased to share that several new feature developments and upgrades are coming to MyCompass due to the support of MyCompass customers. We are extremely grateful for the contributions from Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion, Southwest Homes, MirkaCare Services, Southern Alberta Community Living Association, and Skills Society. All customers will benefit from these new and upgraded features due to the support of our contributors.

Customer-Sourced Feature Development and Sponsorship

On February 27th, 2025, MyCompass Customers gathered to share feedback and ideate on new possible features for MyCompass. We are grateful for the participation of the 18 participants for their time and thoughtful feedback that helped shape these new and upgraded features. Following this workshop, MyCompass compiled the feedback and ideas to create new and upgraded features that were sourced from customer needs. MyCompass utilizes a sponsorship model where new features and desired upgrades can be sponsored by customers to help bring features to life and expedite their development. We are extremely grateful to the 5 organizations who stepped up to fund these new features.

Larger than new features, the generous contributions of MyCompass customers help us meet our systems change goals. We view MyCompass as a systems change agent that humanizes social service interactions and systems - benefitting the people we serve to access opportunities to thrive and live a good life. The sponsorship model enables the growth of MyCompass through grassroots efforts, as opposed to venture capital, which supports us to strongly hold our values and mission without being overshadowed by profit needs of investors. 

We are projecting to complete the majority of the new and upgraded features within 6 - 8 months. We again express gratitude to our contributors whose support helps the rapid development of these features that benefit all MyCompass customers.

MyCompass customers attended a co-design session to share feedback and ideate on new features for MyCompass.

  1. Internal Communication Platform

A dedicated internal team communication space which supports teams, coordinators, and organizations to communicate beyond individual profiles. Similar to a digital communication book, this will support the complex coordination that teams do to support the people they serve.

Estimated launch: June 2025

  1. Enhanced Data Tracking

There are many ways that MyCompass already captures diverse data to support people served. This feature will support service providers to collect meaningful and more robust data and develop customizable data tracking systems and reports.

Estimated launch: July 2025

  1. Connection Point

An interactive tool that connects people served, staff, and others in their network with one another based on shared interests, skills, and experiences. This feature enables the identification of potential connections and for users to communicate through MyCompass as well.

Estimated launch: November 2025

  1. MyCompass Vision Canvas

A digital canvas tool that is a visual representation of goals, dreams, and hopes. Utilizing multiple mediums such as pictures, videos, and audio files that communicate the vision that an individual has for themselves and their life.

  1. Professional Appointment Report

The coordinating, tracking, and interpreting of appointments for people served is important in supporting health and wellness. This feature will enable service providers and people served to record important details and follow up actions or appointments, as well as generate appointment summary reports.

Estimated launch: October 2025

  1. AI Coach

We will shortly being development on an AI tool that organizations can choose to utilize to support problem-solving, generating new ideas, and assists with strategy and data analysis.

Estimated launch: Development begins July 2025. This is an exciting new feature that we are taking care in developing and implementing - the finalized product may be complete outside of our 6 - 8 month projected timeline.

New and upgraded MyCompass features were generated from customer feedback and MyCompass leaders.

  1. Log Notes

Upgrades to log notes will include tools that support people to write comprehensive log notes, enable log note drafts, and customizable log note options to suit the needs of the organization.

  1. Calendar

Digital calendar tools will be added that support streamlined scheduling features and sharing of calendars to important stakeholders.

Estimated launch: September 2025

  1. Community Mapping Tool

The Community Mapping tool allows people to capture public and private places that are important to people served. This upgrade will enable people served to more easily add their frequently visited and favourite locations onto their community map.

Estimated launch: October 2025

  1. MyCompass Missions

MyCompass Missions is a ‘choose your own adventure’ tool to support people to explore new activities and get engaged in community. This feature upgrade will provide additional options for organizations to purchase non-regional missions and integrate into the Community Mapping feature.

Estimated launch: October 2025

  1. Timeline Photos and Video

The Timeline feature supports people served to share meaningful experiences, keep in touch with others, and track progress. To support ease of use of the Timeline, the upgraded feature will include both video and picture upload and larger size limits.

  1. Notifications

The upgrades to notifications will improve communication across the coordination of supports by enhancing notification systems for changes to timeline updates, task assignments, due dates, concerns, incidents, and profile actions. 

Estimated launch: June 2025
